Syria’s Pain Captured in One Heart-Rending Photograph

Leaders and diplomats from 70 countries are meeting in London to pledge billions to help Syrians displaced by war – and try to slow the chaotic exodus of refugees to Europe.
4.6 million Syrians have sought refuge in Jordan, Lebanon and other neighbouring countries.
A monitoring group says more than 500 targets were hit from the air by Syrian and presumably also Russian warplanes during this week’s government offensive which captured strategic areas north of the country’s largest city, Aleppo.
One photograph encapsulates what the millions of refugees are running away from. Reuters’ photojournalist in Syria, Bassam Khabieh, captured this painful image of a girl with her father on a wheelchair, asking for help to pay medical bills from passers by, in Douma, Syria.
The photograph was clicked on February 3.
Here’s another photograph of the girl and her father clicked by Khabieh.
