Russian media revealed that Moscow has tried for the first time a giant drone in Syria, during shelling the opposition's sites north of the country.
Russian space forces have used their biggest drone "Orion" to attack "militants" positions in the Syrian province of Hama, the RT reported.
The drone "Orion" weighs more than a ton and has a dynamic antenna with two long wings. Orion is being developed as a heavy reconnaissance device capable to be flown for long hours.
Experts said this aircraft can carry two large bombs.
Unlike the United States and China, the Russian military had no drone launchers.
Moscow tested dozens of types of weapons, bombs and aircraft during its backing for the Syrian regime in its war against the rebels, causing the death and injury of thousands of civilians in different regions of Syria.
