The Syrian news agency SANA denied reports of an air strike near the Damascus Airport and deleted its original report, which claimed that the country’s defense systems were operated against "air targets."
The Syrian state news agency said the interception was carried out in the air space of the airport.
A while after, the agency's correspondent quoted sources at Damascus International Airport as saying "there is no aggression on the airport and the movement is normal."
"It seems to be a wrong warning," a reliable source told AFP.
n late November, Syria accused Israel of carrying out air strikes on Kisweh, south of Damascus. The air strikes reportedly targeted warehouses and headquarters of the Iranian militias in the area. Media sources said rockets were temporarily stocked in the targeted warehouse, before they being transferred to their destination.
