Like thousands of Syria who lost members of their families and lived the horrible circumstances of war, 59- years-old "Ahmad Eidou" or Abou Yusuf from Aleppo became blind after being arrested for 4 years in regime prisons and being subjected to the most horrendous kinds of torture and humiliation.
Abou Yusuf who has a family of 70 members said: "I was arrested from al-Sha'ar neighborhood in Aleppo and accused of demonstrating against the regime, and I spent 4 years transferring between security branches in Damascus and Aleppo, but the only thing that occupied my mind was my family; all that I asked for is seeing them, but the torture I was subjected to prevented me from seeing them or anything else for the rest of my life".
Abou Yusuf went on saying: "I was released late in 2016 a few days before displacing the inhabitants of Aleppo; I was so excited that I will finally meet my family again, but once I arrived, one of my neighbors told me that they were all killed by regime's bombardment on the neighborhood. My wife, my sons and daughters, and my grandchildren were all killed".
Abou Yusuf explained how he ended up in an infirmary in the town of "al-Dana" in the northern countryside of Idlib after being displaced from Aleppo and how he will be always waiting to meet with whoever is left from his relatives.
